Divers often debate between a liveaboard or a dive resort, which is better?

Well, the answer depends on what you are looking for !

On board a liveaboard, divers can visit remote locations, often not accessible from land. A perfect example of this would be Tubbataha, a remote atoll in the middle of the Sulu Sea. Diving off a liveaboard means traveling between dive destinations on surface intervals or overnight, allowing divers to dive different locations each day, and by diving more locations, enjoying greater biodiversity on a single dive trip! A perfect example for that is diving with all sorts of sharks (Whale Sharks, Threshers, White Tips) and more on our Cebu Malapascua route! Diving on board a liveaboard usually means short boat rides, and the boat anchors closer to the dive sites. And most importantly, it means Eat Sleep Dive Repeat! Most liveaboards include full board, and offer 4-5 dives per day, and for bubble addicts, that is exactly the right amount!

Atlantis Azores Liveaboard Boat
The Atlantis Azores liveaboard boat. 8 cabins, large galley and spacious deck space comfortably hold 16 divers on world-class charters all over the Philippines.

Resort Stays offer divers an opportunity to dive a desired location, while enjoying the hotel grounds, pool and beach, and the opportunity to enjoy some terrestrial activities. Some locations have long boat rides, allowing 2-3 dives per day, while other locations offer shore diving, which often means  divers carry their own gear, and have to fin to the dive site.

At Atlantis Dive Resorts and Liveaboards, we offer the best of both worlds! Our liveaboard Azores is Philippines only Blue Water rated yacht, offering various itineraries, covering Philippines’ prime dive destinations.

You don’t need to compromise! Our dive resorts operate just like a liveaboard, offering all inclusive vacations with five guided boat dives per day, with an average boat ride of 5 minutes!

Like them both? GREAT!  Our liveaboard Azores mostly operates out of our two resorts, for an easy resort/ liveaboard combination. Kick off your dive trip at the resorts, ensuring all your gear made it and that you are well rested before boarding Azores OR de-gas after your dive trip at the resorts, enjoy our spa and pool, and some local diving!
