Rescue Diver & EFR

The Rescue Diver Course is widely accepted as one of the most challenging, rewarding and fun dive courses available.

Open Water Diver

“Challenging” and “rewarding” best describe the Rescue Diver course. Building upon what you’ve already learned, this course expands on what you already know about how to prevent problems, and how to manage them if they occur.

The Rescue Diver Course is widely accepted as one of the most challenging, rewarding and fun dive courses available.

Emphasis is placed on prevention of diving problems and accidents, awareness, control and proper accident management, NOT physical ability, making it an incredibly valuable experience for all divers.

The course is divided into three parts:

One thing is certain, after completing this course you will be a more confident, prepared and aware diver. Group sizes are always kept small and we guarantee lots of personal attention. If you’d like to request one-on-one tuition there is a premium on any quoted price.

The minimum age is 12. You must be a Adventure Diver with Navigation or have another qualifying certification.

The course takes 3 to 5 days to complete and can be completed in stages.

To be certified as a Rescue Diver you must have successfully completed a sanctioned CPR course within the last 24 months. We offer the Emergency First Response (EFR) course (see below) which covers this requirement.

What’s next? As a Rescue Diver you have already achieved a very high standard of diver education. But why not go further? Specialty courses offer an excellent way to take part in and learn more about the types of diving that interest you. And they are the path to becoming a Master Scuba Diver!

Or you could ‘Go Pro’? The Divemaster course is a valuable and fun experience even if you don’t intend to work as a dive professional.

Emergency First Response (EFR)

First aid and CPR are good skills for anyone involved in adventure sports – just in case. And, you need these skills for the Rescue Diver course.

The EFR course consists of two programs:

The courses can be taken together or separately, proof of CPR training is required to take the Secondary Care course.

These relaxed but informative courses are open to anyone and are essential training for divers and non divers alike. Each course takes around half a day to complete.

Combined DAN Oxygen Provider Course & Oxygen First Aid Specialty Course

This is a “must” for Rescue Divers and above. No other course teaches the set up and use of O2 equipment in an emergency. You need this training!

The DAN Oxygen Provider Course will train you to recognize possible dive related injuries and provide emergency oxygen first aid while activating local emergency services and/or arranging evacuation.

You will receive dual certification with DAN and . The Oxygen First Aid Specialty rating can be counted towards the Master Scuba Diver rating.

Open to both divers and non-divers the recommended minimum age is 12 (CPR certification is also recommended) and the course takes around 4 hours.

Emergency First Response Care for Children

The Emergency First Response Care for Children course teaches people how to provide emergency care for injured or ill children and infants.

This course allows you to learn, practice and apply emergency care skills in a non-stressful environment that encourages action. The course introduces the knowledge and skills in simple steps, you will find it easy to remember and use appropriate emergency care procedures when faced with a child in need.

The course may also be integrated with the Emergency First Response Primary Care (CPR) or Emergency First Response Secondary Care (First Aid) courses for individuals who want to be better prepared to care for people of all ages in a variety of circumstances.

The course content focuses on primary and secondary care for children (one to eight years old) and infants (less than a year old). Participants do not need to have previous CPR or first aid training, although those who do will find the course a good refresher to general emergency care skills.
The Emergency First Response Care for Children course is based on internationally recognized medical guidelines for emergency care that were produced through a consensus process of practicing professionals in instructional design for this type of training.
