IANTD Advanced Nitrox and Advanced Recreational Trimix Courses

Tired of leaving those deeper dive sites after just a few minutes? The no-decompression limits will always be there but we can show you the equipment, techniques and skills required to dive beyond them.

The Advanced Nitrox and the Advanced Recreational Trimix courses take you out of the recreational field and introduces you to the realm of “Technical Diving”. Welcome to the dark side!

  • These courses examine the theory, methods and procedures of planned stage decompression diving.
  • The objective of these programs is to train you how to plan and conduct a staged decompression dive safely, to depths of 42m/140ft in the case of Advanced Nitrox, or 48m/160ft in the case of Advanced Recreational Trimix. Either of these courses may be entered as a recreational Nitrox certified diver.
  • A heavy emphasis is placed on equipment redundancy, dive-planning and repetitive skill learning.
  • You will also learn more about the physics and physiology that affect us when diving.
  • The courses take four days to complete and generally require six dives including shallow skill development sessions.

IANTD Technical Wreck Course

This course provides training and experience to competently conduct advanced wreck penetration dives.

  • The course includes equipment configuration requirements, buoyancy, line laying and light use to allow the student to explore beyond the standard wreck penetration limits.
  • Over four days with dry dives and seven actual wreck dives you will learn how to plan for, and avoid possible hazards of penetration, as well as how to deal with problems when they occur.
  • An intensive skill-based course, you will undoubtedly come away feeling a more competent diver ready for your next challenge underwater.
  • Experience with double tanks is required for this course, this can be achieved by taking the Advanced Nitrox with us prior to the course.

IANTD Normoxic Trimix Course

The IANTD Normoxic Trimix Course provides the training required to competently and safely utilize breathing gases containing helium for dives that require staged decompression, utilizing nitrox and / or oxygen mixtures during decompression to a maximum depth of two hundred (200) fsw / sixty (60) msw.

  • The objective of this course is to train divers in the benefits, hazards and proper procedures of utilizing custom oxygen / helium / nitrogen mixtures with no less than 19% oxygen as breathing gases..
  • The course covers diving using two decompression gases with no limitations on amount of decompression to be planned for other than gas management and diver experience..
  • Equivalent narcosis depths no deeper than 36m/120ft allow good control of nitrogen narcosis, greatly reduce carbon dioxide risks, and improve decompression efficiency.

IANTD Trimix Diver Course

The IANTD Trimix Course provides the training required to competently and safely utilize breathing gases containing helium for dives that require staged decompression, utilizing nitrox and / or oxygen mixtures during decompression to a maximum depth of three hundred and thirty (330) fsw / one hundred (100) msw.

  • The objective of this course is to train divers in the benefits, hazards and proper procedures of utilizing hypoxic trimix gases and multiple decompression gases for deep diving.
  • At the pinnacle of sport diving, Trimix divers are able to explore places that few other humans have ever seen.
  • The course covers the academic and practical complexities associated with very deep diving and the exposures it can create. Management of bottom stages and/or multiple decompression gases are generally taught as means of dealing with gas management and decompression issues at this level.
  • As the highest accolade for a sport diver you will find the course challenges you mentally and technically – and leaves you with a real feeling of joining an elite group of people who are pushing diving forward, and expanding their horizons; whether it be to do with equipment, gas mixtures, decompression, or problem solving – you learn it all on this course.
