Our Philosophy In Brief
“We teach Technical Diving, we do not sell certifications”. This sums up the Atlantis Tech philosophy. Emphasis is not placed on issuing certification cards; Atlantis will work with you, until you possess the knowledge, confidence and skills required at each level. The result is training that you won’t find at other dive stores.
We’re dedicated to making you the best diver that you can be.
History Of Atlantis Tech
Atlantis Tech was founded by expert deep diver John Bennett. John held the record for the deepest ever open ocean dive on scuba and was the first diver on scuba to descend past 1000ft/300m. An intense dedication to technical diving of all kinds led John to the top of his field, continually striving for more knowledge, understanding, and ability.
John moved on to pursue other opportunities overseas, though the current team remains comprised of his friends, colleagues and dive buddies, who began their technical diving careers at the same time and hold the same dedication to quality of education, and enthusiasm for technical diving and the boundless opportunities it offers. We don't teach just from books – real technical divers with real experience, and real passion for the ocean is what you will find at Atlantis Tech.
Why tech Diving?
As a tech diver you are trained to go beyond the limits of recreational diving.
Some enjoy the thrill of going to a site and realising that there may have been more people that have set foot on the moon than have dived where they are today. Not everyone has the need to go this extreme. Others enjoy the thrill of gliding effortlessly through the interior of a wreck and opening a drawer to see its contents still lying there in perfect condition.
On a more practical level, technical training allows you to extend your bottom times beyond the constraints of no decompression limits and spend useful, useable bottom time on dive sites of almost any depth. The skills learned in technical diving translate directly back to safer recreational diving, and improvements in buoyancy and technique can drop air consumption rates and enhance your diving experiences wherever your interests lie.
For many people the sheer enjoyment that you get out of diving increases exponentially as your skills in the water improve. Re-visit places like Truk Lagoon once you are tech trained and it will be a revelation, you will get so much more from your diving.

Training With Us
At Atlantis tech you will find quality facilities and equipment. You will dive with experienced staff, that are dedicated to your safety, enjoyment and development as a diver.
We currently run training at all levels, both in water and out, through IANTD and DSAT. Our full time instructors have decades of diving experience, logged thousands of technical dives, and certified well over a thousand divers between them.
Our focus is on developing the divers primary piece of equipment… himself. One of John Bennett’s favourite phrases was ”the key piece of equipment is a knowledgeable and thinking diver”. To this end our courses are thorough, challenging, and safely conducted.
We don’t rush and we don’t pass unsafe divers. We develop skills so that our students earn the certification.
Diving With Us
We dive locally in the beautiful waters of Puerto Galera, run courses in Subic Bay, travel to various wrecks around the Philippines and to Mapating Cave off Maricaban Island. Further afield we run trips to Truk Lagoon and the South China Sea Wrecks.
