MALATAPAY MARKET
Drive 20 minutes south and you are in Malatapay, home of the only open-air market in Negros. Experience the traditional Philippine "barter" system. The locals from Apo Island and the surrounding mountains eagerly trade livestock, fish, exotic fruits, strange vegetables and household items. Sample some lechon baboy (roast pork) and a cold San Miguel beer while sitting on the beach. The market operates on Wednesdays.

CASARORO WATERFALLS
We first take an exciting 4x4 ride up into the mountains to the west of Valencia. At the end of the road, we will hike for 60 minutes to reach the highest waterfall in Negros. The water plummets 40 meters into a "Jurassic Park-like" grotto. You can freshen up with a brisk swim in the cool mountain water. This is a truly unique place and we strongly recommend you take the time to experience its beauty.

TWIN LAKES
Balinsasayao and Danao Twin Lakes, are a haven of pristine flora and fauna. There are two routes to the Twin Lakes that are accessible only with 4X4 vehicles and dirt bikes. On the way, you'll be greeted by the accommodating natives, who are active and instrumental in protecting the lake against exploitation.
While here, you can go kayaking on the clear waters. As you paddle quietly around the sparkling lake, you'll see and hear many wild birds; go fishing with lines and hooks for tilapia and carp in the lake and mountain climbing to get an aerial view of the Twin Lakes, which are only separated by a narrow ridge. In these surrounding forests you'll see rare flowers, orchids, and birds; stay overnight – either in the cottage or in tents.
